Valenza · Piedmont
Home to roughly 1,300 registered companies, Valenza employs 40% of its working population in gold and jewellery. The tradition dates to 1817 and underpins a €1.55 billion annual turnover.
Arezzo · Tuscany
Arezzo's district alone accounts for approximately 30% of total Italian jewellery exports. In 2024, its firms shipped €3.8 billion in finished product to the UAE, Turkey, and the United States.
Vicenza · Veneto
Vicenzaoro has run for over 70 years and brings together more than 1,300 exhibitors across nine supply-chain segments, from rough stones to packaging machinery.
Valenza's production remains anchored in bench skills: lost-wax casting converts wax prototypes into metal forms, followed by hand-finishing, stone setting under microscope, and multi-stage polishing. Titanium and alternative alloys are entering the workflow, but the core artisan sequence has changed little since the mid-twentieth century.

Italian hallmarking is voluntary rather than mandatory, but manufacturers applying for export to Vienna Convention member states use the Common Control Mark (CCM). Arezzo manufacturers register a district code — "1 AR" — as their identification mark. Italy processes roughly 400 tonnes of gold annually for jewellery manufacturing.
